Alone in Versailles

I went to Versailles again, trying so hard to feel alone in this amazing power show. The palace that represents what the French Republic tried so hard to crush but end up being the ultimate French symbol. An overwhelming paradoxical image of this republican country.

The pack of tourists was so dense making a struggle going from one room to the next. I was stepping timidly in the modest beginning of a royal country escape to the ultimate parallel world of Marie-Antoinette and her missed Varennes escape after the revolution. It was a sad and constant reminder of the struggle of  the common people to make their leaders act responsibly. A gap between two worlds filled only by shared blindness. Nothing new I might ironically add and so universal…

Gold and Blood will always darken humanity.
